It's how we end every day. And in praying for Christian, since the very beginning- even when I was pregnant- I knew he would be a worshipper someday. Crazily enough, before he was born our worship leader at the time reminded me of Christian. I still long for that. Even more than I desire for him to succeed academically, become awesome at some instrument, some sport, get into a career that he'll love someday...
I long for him to be a worshipper whose life is lived in complete surrender. Much like his Daddy's!
That is my life long hope for you son, at 4.

You are a silly guy. You will start laughing at something- look at me, we'll both start laughing. And we don't even know what we're laughing at.
You are generous with praise. "Good job Kate. That's a very good GIRL!"

You started Awana and are doing awesome- reciting your verses for us makes us so proud
You come alive during your quiet time. You went from naps, to quiet times to loud/quiet times. I love to hear you playing in your room and coming up with all kinds of stories with your toys

you love to build and create- towers, walls, train tracks
Your favorite foods are oatmeal with brown sugar, chocolate milk and brownies

I have had very mixed feelings about this being your last year at home with Mommy all day. Very mixed. Four to me just says, "preschooler." You will start preschool in the fall, and I am eating up all of the days you, Kate and I have at home together. Choosing when we want to get dressed, get out of the house, etc.

You have a vivid memory of the times you spend with your friends- even the ones out of town that we rarely see. I'm always surprised to hear you talking in your quiet time- pretending, and a name comes up of a friend we haven't seen in months!

One of my favorite things is our morning time together. You and Mommy are the early birds around here. I'm usually on the couch and you peek your head around the corner and grin, holding both of your monkeys as if to ask, "can I come out?"

The other day your Daddy and I were cracking up as we heard you playing in your room with Kate. It got real quiet and then all of a sudden you said, "What's up dude?!" And came out of your room with your hat on backwards. NO idea where that came from!
You are sweet down to the very core, and very intentional about how you do things. A lot of times when you do "act out" it's because your feelings are hurt or you aren't able to get things just right with your toys
Lord, you created Christian and gifted us with him. Help us live lives of surrender and worship to you so we'll have what it takes to raise this sweet boy in the wisdom that only comes from You.

Precious boy. You are blessed, dear mama!
I love your heart and his. What a sweet little blessing Christian is and what a lucky boy to have parents who encourage him in his faith!
